Saturday, July 19th, 2014: Álvarez Tosses Shutout Against Albuquerque
Cisco Álvarez, the 22-year-old Milan hurler, tamed the Albuquerque Diablos 2-0 at Apostles Ballpark today. He limited them to 2 hits while fanning 4 and walking 0.

In season stats Álvarez shows a 7-0 record in 10 games, 77.2 innings, 31 strikeouts and a 1.39 ERA.

Saturday, July 5th, 2014: Taylor Sharp in Shutout
He didn't put a spell on them. It wasn't black magic, it was just old-fashioned good pitching. That's how Kevin Taylor of the Quebec Stallions blanked the Albuquerque Diablos 1-0.

After tossing a complete-game 2-hit shutout, he was all smiles, saying, "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game. I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance."

His own skipper said, "He's at his best when he gets ahead of the hitters." Taylor walked 1 and struck out 5 in the victory.

The Diablos manager commented on their lack of success against him, saying, "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes."

Thus far this season, Taylor has worked 57 innings with 21 strikeouts en route to a 3-3 record and a 3.16 ERA.

Sunday, June 1st, 2014: O'Bryan Holds Diablos Scoreless
"Ed O'Bryan is really a good pitcher when he throws strikes early in the count," said his manager after the Hakodate hurler tossed a complete game 1-hit shutout against the Albuquerque Diablos.

"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said O'Bryan. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."

O'Bryan walked 2 and struck out 2 in the 2-0 victory.
