| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, July 24th, 2013: González Razor-Sharp, Shuts Out Lauderhill
A masterful pitching performance carried the Bridgeport Buzz to a 3-0 victory over Lauderhill. Jorge González held them scoreless in a complete game effort. He permitted 5 hits, had 5 strikeouts and allowed no walks.
The skipper of the Hitmen said, "González was sharp. We never did figure him out."
This season González has compiled a 4-1 mark with a 1.80 ERA in 5 starts.

 | Tuesday, October 16th, 2012: Bridgeport's Stewart Wins WL Outstanding Hitter Award
The Western League Outstanding Hitter Award has been picked for 2012 and the winner was Bridgeport first baseman Burton Stewart.
He finished his outstanding season with a .392 batting average, 85 hits, 7 home runs, 48 RBIs, .422 OBP and 34 runs scored.
This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season.

Sparks is riding skyhigh on cloud nine today after they won the 1st Round 3 title in its team's history.
The Flyers put the Bridgeport Buzz out of their misery with a 3-2 victory at Ballpark of Sparks and took the series 4-1.
They finished the regular season with a 42-20 mark and wound up second in the Eastern League North.
