| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, July 9th, 2013: Lengnisch on Top of His Game Ulrich Lengnisch had the Hakodate Nunchaku dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 1-0 shutout performance for the North Shore Honu. He gave up 3 hits and collected 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Hakodate hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery.
The opposing manager said, "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point. We just never figured him out."
|  | Friday, August 31st, 2012: Hot Bat of Ho Burns Grizzlies Jian-guo Ho put on a hitting clinic today as the Honu dumped the Grizzlies 6-4 at North Shore Grounds. The North Shore first baseman sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Gateway pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game.
He told SION reporters after the game, that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."
J. Ho singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Ho is hitting .299 this year with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .364, 10 walks and scored 15 times. |  | Thursday, August 9th, 2012: Honu Blanked by Elvin Speaking after the game, the Tomsk manager said, "Bill Elvin had everything going for him. He controlled their bat speed, stayed down, had a lot of movement... he had it all...masterful."
Elvin held the North Shore Honu to 1 hit and fashioned a fine 6-0 shutout. He had 3 walks and 5 strikeouts in the game.
"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," the North Shore skipper told reporters.
