| Breaking News |  | Friday, August 24th, 2012: Perrault 5-6 for Rolling Meadows It was a good day all around. Rolling Meadows whipped Newport News 14-6 and Dominique Perrault displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Mustangs Ballpark.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told SION reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Dominique is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have, and vice versa."
The 20-year-old catcher for the Mustangs collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
D. Perrault hit a solo-shot off D. MacFadden in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 9th.
So far this season Perrault has hit .267 with 4 home runs, 18 RBIs and and scored 16 times. |  | Saturday, August 18th, 2012: Salmon Arm's Vigil Shuts Out Generals Salmon Arm hurler José Vigil was at his best as he whitewashed the Newport News Generals 3-0 today.
"He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said the Newport News manager. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit."
Vigil fired a 4-hitter and totaled 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout performance.

The Unionville pitcher mystified the Generals in a strong performance. He gave up 6 hits and totaled 1 walk and 1 strikeout.
His manager said, "Mauro had them chasing a lot of pitches and turning around and saying 'wow' . . . we were thinking the same thing, too. It was something special to watch."
