| Breaking News |  | Monday, July 29th, 2013: Otero EL's Best of the Week
Héctor Otero of the Sandstorms relied on a sharp eye and a quick bat to outpace all other Eastern League hitters last week and collect the Player of the Week Award.
He hit .480 with 12 hits in 25 at-bats, 1 home run and 9 RBIs.
So far this season Otero has hit .447 with 2 home runs, 23 RBIs and and scored 22 times.

When Dirceu Rosende stepped into the batter's box, he meant business. His outstanding play this week has netted the Phoenix first baseman the well-deserved Eastern League Player of the Week Award.
Playing in 6 games he lashed out a .464 average with 13 hits, 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

| Thursday, August 30th, 2012: Hits Galore! Rosende Drills 5 Hits!
Dirceu Rosende had an answer for everything Hanoi threw him today at Sandstorms Ballpark. In 5 at-bats he made good contact and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Phoenix first baseman went 5 for 6 in the game to get his name in the record book. However, his great performance was not enough to produce a victory. His club, the Sandstorms, took it on the chin 6-2 against the Fightin' Whities.
"I know you can't win 'em all," he said, "but it sure would have been nice to win this one. To get 5 hits and lose is just not the way it should be."
D. Rosende flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off G. Karakchiev in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 13th.
To date Rosende has chalked up a .401 average with 1 home run, driven in 17 runs and scored 17 times.
