| Breaking News |  | Thursday, July 18th, 2013: Pae Cracks 5 Hits
There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Dong-woo Pae of the Oxnard Beet Farmers had one of those moments when he went 5 for 6 at the plate today in the 13-2 win over the Yellowknife Knights at Beet Farmers Ballpark.
The 20-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
D. Pae singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off V. Arispe in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season Pae is hitting .370 with 3 home runs.

 | Thursday, August 16th, 2012: Vázquez Befuddles Yellowknife
Everything clicked on the hill today for Tomás Vázquez of the Carson City Carpetbaggers as he hurled his club to a 9-0 shutout win over the Yellowknife Knights, limiting them to 6 hits while recording 7 strikeouts and yielding 2 walks. He overpowered some batters with his fastball and buckled knees with his sharp breaking pitches.
"We had our shot at him a couple of different times," the Knights manager said, "but we weren't able to get to him."
So far this season Vázquez has compiled a 5-5 record with a 3.86 ERA.

Tony Vela of the Vladivostok Sputnika was one tough customer on the hill today. He blanked the Yellowknife Knights 10-0 on 2 hits, registering 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"When he's on, he's tough to hit," said the Yellowknife manager after the game. "He's just a bulldog out there."
