| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, September 10th, 2014: Barranquilla's Schmidt, Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner
He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Jason Schmidt performed like a veteran on the hill for the Barranquilla Blaze and walked away with the Western League Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process.
The 20-year-old Blaze star fashioned a 10-0 won-loss record in 2014 with a 2.34 ERA. In 88.1 innings of work and 12 starts, Schmidt struck out 47 while giving up 75 hits and 9 walks. He held opposing batters to a .231 average.

| Thursday, August 28th, 2014: Barranquilla Beats Rouen in Round 3
The 2014 Round 3 is history, and GUBA Short Season A has added another champion to its record book.
Barranquilla prevailed over Rouen today with a 4-0 victory at Blaze Ballpark. It was the Blaze 2nd time claiming the title.
They compiled a 40-14 regular season record and finished in the first spot in the Western League North pennant chase.

Julián Ramos dominated the day, pitching shutout ball against the Carpetbaggers and holding them to 3 hits. He fanned 6 and walked 1 in spinning his 2-0 win.
"I can't take all the credit for this one," Ramos said. "I had some great defense behind me."
This season Ramos has compiled a 7-4 record with a 2.50 ERA in 13 starts.
