| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014: 5-Hit Blitz by Cork's Daryalov It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Sanya Daryalov -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Saints Ballpark and paced the Saints to a 13-10 win over the Utica Fire.
After his dynamite batting performance the Cork left fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
S. Daryalov hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Daryalov has hit at a .288 pace and produced 18 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 18 runs. |  | Monday, July 21st, 2014: Thomas Earns EL Player of the Week Swinging a hot stick last week, Andrew Thomas picked up the Eastern League Player of the Week Award today.
The 22-year-old shortstop for Cork lashed 13 hits in 27 at-bats as he put together a .481 average with 2 home runs. Thomas also drove in 3 runs, scored 8 times and compiled a .500 OBP.
This year Thomas is batting .330 with 61 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 30 times and has batted in 26 runs. |  | Wednesday, July 16th, 2014: Thomas Raps Hilo for 5 Hits After the Cork 6-1 victory over Hilo and his 5-hit day shortstop Andrew Thomas told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."
The 22-year-old player gained that distinction today at Saints Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Hilo Stars.
The skipper of the Saints spoke glowingly of Thomas, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Andrew did that to perfection today."
