In an impressive outing, Claudio Ramírez whitewashed the Bowling Green Spelunkers 3-0.
"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Ramírez, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.
"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."
The Mantaza hurler held Bowling Green scoreless, allowed 1 hit, chalked up 4 strikeouts and yielded no walks.

It was a hits blitz for Brian Mitchell at Ballpark of Mantaza. The Mantaza Basilicos first baseman tore into Ottawa for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace Basilicos to a 7-5 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.
The manager for the Moose bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Mitchell, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
B. Mitchell singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 12th.
This season Mitchell is batting .394 with 13 hits, 1 home run, 5 RBIs, .444 OBP and has scored 2 runs. |

Last week Jean-Claude Renou was the toast of Mantaza and the talk of the Eastern League -- this week he's the EL Player of the Week.
The standout first baseman sewed up the award with his .448 average (13-29), 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 5 runs.
