| Breaking News |  | Sunday, July 27th, 2014: García Tosses Shutout Ottawa's Luis García brought his "A game" to the park, shutting down and shutting out the Santiago Iguanas 10-0. He racked up no strikeouts, surrendered 6 hits and issued no walks on his way to the victory.
To date this season, García has a record of 5 wins and 4 losses and a 3.17 ERA. He has appeared in 10 games and struck out 7 in 76.2 innings. |  | Saturday, July 5th, 2014: Chávez 5-5 Against Iguanas Francisco Chávez was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 5 hits and leading the Generals to a 13-5 victory over the Santiago Iguanas.
After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.
In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the Melrose Park catcher said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."
Nobody was at home today as Chávez finished the day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a line in the record book.
F. Chávez doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.

He tossed a 4-hitter for Mantaza to beat Santiago 10-0 at Ballpark of Mantaza.
