This week Hayato Mori, first baseman for the Glendale Gladiators, hit everything in sight to win the Western League Player of the Week trophy.
He rattled fences and pitchers as he banged out a .500 average and .519 on-base percentage. Mori logged 13 hits in 26 at-bats, 1 home run, 8 RBIs, 1 walk and scored 6 times.
This season Mori is hitting .356 with 3 home runs.

 | Friday, May 24th, 2013: Hot Hitter! Challinor Blisters Glendale!
Jeremy Challinor had an answer for everything Glendale threw him today at Dragons Stadium. In 5 at-bats he made good contact and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Taipei second baseman went 5 for 5 in the game to get his name in the record book. However, his great performance was not enough to produce a victory. His club, the Dragons, took it on the chin 16-9 against the Gladiators.
"I know you can't win 'em all," he said, "but it sure would have been nice to win this one. To get 5 hits and lose is just not the way it should be."
J. Challinor singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, walked in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
In the 2013 season Challinor is hitting .372 with 1 home run.

Relying on pinpoint control and a good array of pitches, Alonso Icaza of the Glendale Gladiators held the Travelers Rest Stickfigures scoreless today. He scattered 6 hits over 9 innings and fanned 1 on his way to the 18-0 victory.
