Esteban Ruíz, the Waverly third baseman, certainly made an impression on Western League pitchers this past season. He punished them for 87 hits in 226 at-bats, 16 doubles, 6 triples, 4 home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 49 times.
That standout hitting earned him the Western League Outstanding Hitter Award for 2014.

Ivan Immerrechts's 20-game hitting streak was snapped today at Brewmasters Ballpark. The 21-year-old Loons right fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats in the game with the Waverly Hooligans, but Rochester came out the winner, topping them 7-6.
One of his teammates told BNN, "The streak was no big deal to Ivan. He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames. That's the bottom line."
So far in 2014, Immerrechts is batting .392 with no home runs and 10 RBIs.

| Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014: Immerrechts Has 20-Game Hitting Streak
Rochester right fielder Ivan Immerrechts keeps on racking up hits in every game he plays in. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 1 hit in today's game.
"I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out. I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've been a little lucky," said Immerrechts after the Loons 3-2 victory over the Hooligans.
I. Immerrechts walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
In 38 games this season Immerrechts has compiled a .408 batting average with 31 hits and no home runs. He has also scored 15 times and knocked in 10 runs.
