At Ballpark of Holbrook Marcos Ayala of the Holbrook Sailors put on a hitting clinic today against San Jose. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled Macaws pitching, but came up short in the win department.
In spite of his standout 5-hit performance, the Macaws captured the game by the score of 7-6.
"Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," were his words in the postgame interview.
M. Ayala singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 9th.

 | Saturday, July 6th, 2013: San Jose Hopeless Against Cho
The Macaws manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Davao Water Buffalos 3-0.
"It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said.
Su-gyung Cho blanked them on 5 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Cho said.
"I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
Cho in 2013 has fashioned a 7-10 mark, 4.80 ERA and thrown 122 innings in 19 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .302 against him.

 | Monday, June 24th, 2013: Murakami Sizzles! Smokes Macaws for 5 Hits!
Sadaharu Murakami told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Murakami of the West Ohahu Cane Fires did against the San Jose Macaws. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Macaws, who suffered a 9-2 defeat.
"Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us."
S. Murakami hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off A. Cuarenta in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 8th.
Murakami is currently hitting at a .302 pace with 4 home runs, 19 RBIs and has scored 13 times.
