It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Ryzard Buczacz. It was very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Buczacz went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Aunu'u pitching.
When the dust settled on the diamond at Ballpark of Delaware, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the Delaware Smash had a 11-5 victory over the Swamphens.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he laughed in the SION postgame interview.
R. Buczacz hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
This season Buczacz is batting at a .304 clip with 4 home runs and 26 RBIs.

 | Tuesday, July 16th, 2013: Cane Fires Shut Out Smash, Silva Winner
José Silva of the West Ohahu Cane Fires was masterful today, pitching a 4-hit 4-0 shutout against the Delaware Smash and giving his bullpen a rest by going the the distance.
According to his manager, "He had command of every ball and every pitch . . . great location, too." Silva had 1 strikeout and issued 4 walks in an impressive outing.
In 18 starts this season Silva has registered a 7-2 record and a 3.14 ERA.

 | Monday, July 15th, 2013: WL Names Top Player of the Week
The Western League made it official today: Patryk Ciempa is the Player of the Week.
He really glistened on the diamond this week with a .483 average to take home the honor. The Delaware center fielder went 14-29, drove in 5 runs, scored 7 times and hit no home runs.
This season Ciempa has no home runs and a .331 batting average.
