Sunday, September 21st, 2014: EL Awards Outstanding Pitcher Trophy
The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2014 has been presented and the Eastern League winner is José Trujillo of Long Island.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Trujillo. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Black Riders star told reporters.

Trujillo excelled with an impressive 17-5 record in 30 starts. In 209 innings he yielded 208 hits and 33 walks, while striking out 145 and compiling a fine 3.49 ERA.

Thursday, June 19th, 2014: Stone Sparkles, Blanks Hagerstown
Bennie Stone held the Hawks to 4 harmless hits as the Long Island Black Riders whitewashed Hagerstown by a 8-0. Stone had 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in the win.

In 2014 Stone has no saves in no relief appearances with a 8-2 mark and 4.20 ERA.

Wednesday, June 18th, 2014: Saslove's Hit Streak Over
The 20-game hitting streak of 26-year-old right fielder Sean Saslove came to an end today at Ballpark of Long Island. The Hawks held him hitless in 4 at-bats and also sent the Long Island Black Riders down to defeat 3-1.

In 2014 Saslove is hitting .333 with 98 hits, 5 home runs, 45 RBIs, .393 OBP and has scored 46 runs.
