Daniel Billard of the Saskatoon Pioneers culminated a sensational week of play by being named the Eastern League Player of the Week.
He rocked the opposition with a .526 batting average, 10 hits in 19 at-bats, 2 home runs, and 8 RBIs while scoring 6 times.
This season Billard is hitting .364 with 5 home runs.

 | Sunday, June 9th, 2013: Hopkins Batters Bensenville Big Time!
"It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Saskatoon center fielder Dale Hopkins said to SION reporters after his fantastic 5-9 day against the Bensenville Blaze at Saskatoon Grounds. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."
The Pioneers had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 4-3.
D. Hopkins singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th, struck out in the 15th and singled in the 17th.
In 2013 Hopkins is hitting .372 with 42 hits, no home runs, 12 RBIs, .388 OBP and has scored 18 runs.

 | Sunday, June 9th, 2013: Bermén Bashes 6 Base Hits
Rafael Bermén really sizzled at the plate in today's 4-3 win over Blaze. The Saskatoon catcher blistered Bensenville for 6 hits in 8 at-bats.
"Bermén was too tough to get out today," the Blaze skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
R. Bermén singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th, singled in the 15th and struck out in the 17th.
A look at his 2013 stats shows Bermén with a .273 average, 4 home runs, 24 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 53 games.
