"He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Reno manager after watching Chris Dowd of the Madagascar Dragons humiliate his club 4-0 in a fine 4-hit shutout.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Dowd said after he befuddled the Big Littles. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
He whiffed 4 and walked 1 in the complete game effort.
So far this year Dowd has a 6-17 record with a 5.54 ERA.

 | Monday, August 4th, 2014: Contreras 5-6 Against Bensenville
Iván Contreras of the Big Littles was unstoppable in today's 16-4 victory over the Bensenville Blaze at Big Littles Ballpark. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Reno left fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."
I. Contreras singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.
This season Contreras has 5 home runs and a .266 batting average.

 | Saturday, August 2nd, 2014: Campos Pitches Big Littles to Shutout Win
Goose eggs were the order of the day for Omaha as Pablo Campos shut out the Barnstormers 6-0 at Big Littles Ballpark. The Reno pitcher struck out 3 and walked 1 while allowing 4 hits.
To date this year in 23 starts, Campos has crafted a 15-6 mark with a 3.13 ERA.
