| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014: Green 5-5 for Sendai Sendai catcher Doug Green really lit up the Tasmanian Devils with a 5-hit barrage today at Swords Ballpark -- a performance that sparked the Swords to a 14-3 triumph.
He shrugged off the performance after the game and said, "Sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes."
D. Green singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
Green is hitting .317 this season with 2 home runs, 31 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 89 hits in 281 at-bats. |  | Sunday, July 20th, 2014: Swords Hooper Smacks 5 Hits "It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Sendai shortstop J.J. Hooper said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 5-5 day against the Alaska Sled Dogs at Swords Ballpark. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."
The Swords had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 15-2.
J. Hooper hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run double in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off M. Holcombe in the 7th.
For the year Hooper is batting .286 with 122 hits and 8 home runs. He has scored 51 times and driven in 61. |  | Saturday, July 5th, 2014: Hawks Pitching Ravaged by Hooper J.J. Hooper really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Swords Ballpark, the Sendai shortstop blistered the Hagerstown Hawks for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 3-2 victory.
"Hooper was too tough to get out today," the Hawks skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
J. Hooper singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off J. Fernandes in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off D. Morales in the 10th.
