| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, August 6th, 2014: Martínez on Fire: 5-6 for Anchorage Today the Frigates downed the Sharks 20-4 as José Martínez sprayed hits all over Anchorage Grounds in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
The Anchorage left fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them."
J. Martínez hit a two-run triple in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This season Martínez is swinging the bat at a .286 rate with 133 hits in 465 at-bats. In the postgame press conference the Honolulu skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink."
E. Morrow singled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th and doubled in the 8th.
