Sancho Mejía of the Victoria Grizzlies spun his magic on the Belize Criollos today. He blanked them 6-0 on 3 hits, registering 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Mejía said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the Victoria skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone."
In 2013 Mejía has compiled a 11-7 mark with a 4.01 ERA in 21 starts.

| Monday, June 24th, 2013: Mejía Humbles Seoul
According to Sancho Mejía of the Victoria Grizzlies, "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location." He told his pitching philosophy to sportswriters in the postgame interview after his 4-0 victory over Seoul.
He blanked them on a 5-hitter, allowed 1 walk and had 5 strikeouts. "I really felt comfortable the whole game," Mejía said.
His manager echoed his comments, saying, "He hit his spots time and time again."
So far this year Mejía has made 17 starts, tossed 102.2 innings, struck out 55 batters and walked 35. His record is 8-7 with a 4.65 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .272 batting average.

All week long Julián Colón was the toughest out in the Western League and that is the prime reason he was voted the Player of the Week.
The Victoria third baseman rapped out 16 hits in 37 at-bats for a .432 batting average, drove in 6 runs and scored 7 times.
In the 2013 season Colón is batting .335 with 63 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 30 times and batted in 29.
