The Wolves whipped the Sharks 7-0 at Wolves Ballpark and Naoya Ine had a big hand in the win. The Wolves left fielder came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Ine and a tough day for Honolulu.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Ine delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league.
N. Ine singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season Ine is batting .310 with 48 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 20 times and has 19 runs batted in.

 | Friday, July 4th, 2014: Lee Fires Shutout in Madison Win
P.J. Lee of the Madison Wolves shut out the Honolulu Sharks 7-0, stopped them on 2 hits and had 5 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
After the game his manager said, "He just came out and was on the attack from the first pitch he threw. When P.J. stays ahead in the count, he does well. That's the key."
In 2014, Lee has a 10-4 mark in 17 starts with a 3.80 ERA. He has given up 111 hits in 116 innings, struck out 85 and issued 23 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .248 batting average against him.

 | Tuesday, June 10th, 2014: Madison's Bermúdez Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Carlos Bermúdez got the glory and the headlines today, while the Atlantic City Gamblers got the win. The Madison first baseman easily handled Gamblers pitching, going 5 for 5, but the Wolves came out on the short end of the score 5-4.
He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "I'm glad I got the hits, but I would trade three or four of 'em for a win... maybe even all 5 of 'em."
The Wolves skipper added, "Well, it's a shame we didn't get the victory today, especially with his standout performance. Let's just hope our team can do better tomorrow."
C. Bermúdez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off L. Hekman in the 9th.
So far this year Bermúdez has 9 home runs and a .269 batting average.
