| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, July 16th, 2014: 5-Hit Blitz by Yellow Springs's Guillemin
It was high-5 day at Field of the Nine, at least for Laurent Guillemin of the Yellow Springs Nine. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Tutuila Turtles, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Guillemin smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Yellow Springs still dropped the game 7-4.
His manager said, "Laurent was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN writers, "Guillemin bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame."
L. Guillemin doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 2014 Guillemin is batting .278 with 2 home runs.

 | Sunday, July 13th, 2014: Nine Villanueva Silences Memphis
Carlos Villanueva came out firing strikes and when the game ended, the Nine hurler had struck out 10 in leading Yellow Springs over the Memphis Fire 8-0. Villanueva allowed just 4 hits in the ballgame.
This season Villanueva has worked 87 innings with 86 strikeouts en route to a 7-5 record and a 3.21 ERA.

 | Monday, July 7th, 2014: Silva's Strong Week Earns EL Trophy
At the age of 28, Alberto Silva might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Yellow Springs first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the Eastern League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 1 home run and 9 RBIs last week in 6 games.
For 2014 Silva is hitting .340 with 8 home runs. His stats include 52 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
