| Breaking News |  | Sunday, July 21st, 2013: Easley Shuts Out Patagonia "He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Easley skipper said in postgame comments after Allen Bell had shut out the Patagonia Giant Sloths 5-0 on a 5-hit masterpiece.
Bell numbered 8 strikeouts and issued no walks in a gem of a performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Patagonia manager after the defeat.
Season-to-date Bell has rung up 8 wins and 10 losses in 22 appearances. He has an ERA of 4.11 and has fanned 62 batters in 142.1 innings. |  | Tuesday, July 16th, 2013: Silva Spins Shutout Against Nine Jesús Silva of the Patagonia Giant Sloths was on top of his game today. He tantalized the Yellow Springs Nine with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 8-0 shutout.
In the postgame comments, the Yellow Springs skipper said, "He had the changeup working. You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Patagonia hurler had 3 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 4 hits in his complete game effort.
Silva told reporters after the game, "To be successful in this league, you have to keep the ball down. If you don't, they'll make you pay."
