Three home runs in one game! "I was in a groove," he said, "and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."

"No offense meant to Shanghai, but it was like I was back in little league again. I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Ballpark of Easley."
The Easley catcher had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and pacing his club to a 14-4 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Romain worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," Combes said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
R. Combes hit a three-run double in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off B. Wilson in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
