Niigata hurler Terry Jensen was at his best as he whitewashed the Death Valley Sunfire 9-0 today.
"He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said the Death Valley manager. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit."
Jensen fired a 3-hitter and totaled 9 strikeouts and 2 walks in the shutout performance.
This year Jensen has registered 15 wins and 7 losses in 25 starts with a 2.51 ERA while registering 134 strikeouts and 35 walks in 193.1 innings.

 | Monday, July 28th, 2014: Eastern League Selects Best Performer
It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Eastern League, but last week Daniel Erwin of the Niigata Ninjas reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week.
Erwin rocked opposing pitching for a .500 average (10-20), 2 home runs and 10 RBIs to come away with the award.
Erwin is hitting .292 this year with 15 home runs, 61 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He has 107 hits in 366 at-bats, 25 walks and a .341 on-base percentage. Erwin has played in 99 games.

 | Monday, July 21st, 2014: Congo Whitewashes Niigata, Galván Winner
It was a great game for Francisco Galván of the Congo Drums. The 21-year-old hurler blanked the Niigata Ninjas 4-0, stopping them on 1 hit.
In 17 starts this season Galván has compiled a 7-6 record and a 3.03 ERA.
