That would be hard to believe for anyone who saw him dispose of the Cartel with a great 5-hit performance.
"He made it look easy," said the Medellin manager, who saw his team fall to the Pacific Grove Paladins, 10-1. "Hats off to him!"
D. Whitney singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Tijuana pitching apart at Paladins Ballpark and sparked the Paladins to a 12-5 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Sánchez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
L. Sánchez singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off J. Schultz in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season Sánchez is hitting .280 with 82 hits, 8 home runs, 35 RBIs, scored 34 runs and played in 74 games. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 70-50, .583 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 37-23, .617 PCT | | Record on the road | 33-27, .550 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 8-3, .727 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 27-17, .614 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 28-14, .667 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 42-36, .538 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 17-11, .607 PCT | | Record in May | 19-10, .655 PCT | | Record in June | 14-11, .560 PCT | | Record in July | 17-12, .586 PCT | | Record in August | 3-6, .333 PCT |
