| Breaking News |  | Friday, August 1st, 2014: Jackson Collects Cycle
Today at Ballpark of Hawaii Jonathan Jackson tore up Cartel pitching, but the Typhoon still came up empty. Medellin whipped them 11-7, despite his best efforts. The Hawaii catcher hit for the cycle with a 4-5 day and collected 2 RBI and scored 2 runs -- but to no avail -- his team lost the game anyway.
J. Jackson doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, walked in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Looking at his stats this year, Jackson has compiled a .440 batting average, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 16 runs. He has played in 50 games and scored 17 runs.

 | Wednesday, July 16th, 2014: Medellin Whitewashed by Galván
The Congo Drums posted a 8-0 shutout over Medellin today on the strength of a strong performance by Francisco Galván. The Drums pitcher held the Cartel to 3 hits while walking 0 and fanning 6 in the route-going win.
Galván has started 16 times this year, pitched 104 innings, fanned 85 batters and walked 19. His current record is 6 wins and 6 losses with a 3.29 ERA.

 | Monday, July 14th, 2014: Great Week for Medellin's Catcher
Gaudêncio Tavaco is respected by most Medellin Cartel fans for his no-frills style of play. The 23-year-old catcher went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Eastern League Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .444 average (8-18) with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
In the 2014 season Tavaco is batting .362 with 25 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 6 times and batted in 16.
