| Breaking News | | Sunday, August 17th, 2014: Shimizu Mystifies Burlington Norio Shimizu was sneaky fast, on the mark and hard to hit today. He blanked the Burlington Railroaders 6-0 on 2 hits and had 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.
"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," the Burlington skipper told reporters after the shutout loss to the Caracas Roughnecks.
"He just had a real deceiving fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."
In 26 starts this season Shimizu has chalked up a 15-7 record and a 3.34 ERA. | | Wednesday, August 6th, 2014: Hernández Sensational, 5-6 There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. The 20-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day... enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
A. Hernández singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.

Thus far this year Kerry has hit .500 with no home runs and 2 RBIs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 69-61, .531 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 14.0 GB | | Record at home | 31-34, .477 PCT | | Record on the road | 38-27, .585 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 4-8, .333 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 13-17, .433 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 18-16, .529 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 51-45, .531 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 19-9, .679 PCT | | Record in May | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in June | 13-13, .500 PCT | | Record in July | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in August | 9-10, .474 PCT |
