The Gladiators manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Oakland Knights 10-0.
"It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said.
Norihisa Kobayashi blanked them on 2 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Kobayashi said.
"I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
For the season Kobayashi has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves, compiled a 7-4 won-lost mark and a 2.60 ERA. In pitching 110.2 innings, he has totaled 101 strikeouts and 24 walks.

At Anchormen Ballpark today Oakland dropped a 4-0 decision to Blake Palmer and the San Diego Anchormen. The Knights offered little resistance to Palmer, who stopped them on 4 hits, fanned 11 and walked 3.
To date this season, Palmer has a record of 8 wins and 4 losses and a 2.28 ERA. He has appeared in 15 games and struck out 114 in 110.1 innings.

The season is finished for Esteban Flores of the Oakland Knights. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Knights reliever suffered a ruptured tricep tendon while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Nashville Sounds. Team doctors said it would take at least 7 months to heal.
Flores has earned 1 save and a 4-3 mark this season with a 4.84 earned run average in 33 relief appearances. He has worked 48.1 innings, yielded 45 hits, struck out 39 batters and walked 25.
