 | Friday, July 5th, 2013: Sugimoto Fires Shutout in Stingrays Win
Mitsuoki Sugimoto allowed 3 hits while giving up 1 walk and collecting 3 strikeouts as Maui blanked Chihuahua 4-0.
In the postgame interview Sugimoto said, "I'm trying to keep the ball down and let guys put it in play. It worked for me today."
In 18 starts this season Sugimoto has registered a 6-7 record and a 5.32 ERA. |
 | Tuesday, June 4th, 2013: Pettigrew Tosses Shutout Against Rome
The Rome Gladiators met their match today in Maui hurler George Pettigrew. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 6-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," the Rome skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow."
In the 3-0 victory Pettigrew whiffed 5 and gave up 2 walks.
So far this season Pettigrew has 4 wins and 8 losses and a 5.46 ERA.
