Evan Morrow, Claxton's outstanding second baseman, took home the Western League Outstanding Hitter Award for 2014.
This season he put up some strong stats, including a .330 batting average and a .397 on-base percentage. In 114 games he piled up 144 hits, 22 doubles, 9 triples, 8 home runs, 47 RBIs and scored 83 times.

 | Monday, September 15th, 2014: Freedom Win Round 3 Crown
It was a clash of the two best teams in the GUBA Triple A -- the New York Freedom and the Claxton Blue Knights -- and when the dust cleared on the diamond -- the Freedom were the 2014 Round 3 champions.
It all came to an end today at Ballpark of New York, when New York clinched the title with a 3-0 victory and won the series 4-3. It is the 1st time it has happened in club history.
During the Eastern League Central regular season New York put up a 93-37 record and finished first.

 | Wednesday, August 6th, 2014: Hernández Sensational, 5-6
There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. António Hernández of the Claxton Blue Knights had one of those moments when he went 5 for 6 at the plate today in the 12-4 win over the Caracas Roughnecks at Ballpark of Claxton.
The 20-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day... enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
A. Hernández singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
This year Hernández is batting .280 with 108 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 51 times and has batted in 60 runs.
