In an outstanding mound performance, Cory Bell of the Rome Gladiators scuttled the Burlington Railroaders 7-0 on a 5-hit shutout, ringing up 7 strikeouts and giving up 1 walk.
"He's got great stuff and good movement," the Burlington manager said after the game.
"He threw a lot of breaking balls. He made adjustments. We just couldn't figure him out today."
Checking out his stats for the season, Bell has notched 5 wins and 9 losses in 19 starts, 3.48 ERA and struck out 103 batters in 137 innings.

Igor Farniok of the Burlington Railroaders had a super week and today was voted the Player of the Week by the Western League.
The 21-year-old center fielder put up a .423 average with a .444 on-base percentage, racking up 11 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
Thus far this year Farniok has hit .286 with 14 home runs and 36 RBIs.

An-yan Kui put a hex on Limerick in a sparkling 5-0 shutout performance, mesmerizing them on a 4-hit gem.
"I feel good physically," he said. "Everything's comfortable. You should pitch well when that's the case."
It was anything but comfortable for Limerick.
"Kui used his changeup very well, very effectively," the opposing manager said. "He threw it in hitter's counts."
The Burlington Railroaders hurler fanned 3 and walked 3.
Kui in 2013 has fashioned a 6-5 mark, 2.82 ERA and thrown 111.2 innings in 16 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .253 against him.
