An efficient outing for Will Jones usually means a win for Samoan. Today was no exception, as the 25-year-old starter held Zhengzhou to a long line of goose eggs. He struck out 7 and gave up 3 hits in the 6-0 shutout.

In an excellent mound performance, Germain Sogliano of the Nashville Sounds whitewashed the Samoan Navigators 3-0 on a 5-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The Samoan manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Sogliano did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the Nashville hurler rang up 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in the shutout win.
In the 2013 season Sogliano has 4 wins and 4 losses and a 2.57 ERA.

 | Saturday, July 6th, 2013: Limerick Blanked by Howard
In an outstanding outing, Irwin Howard tamed Limerick on a 4-hit shutout. The Samoan hurler went the distance, finishing with 4 strikeouts and no walks in the 1-0 win.
"He had a lot of first pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to the Limerick manager. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
So far this year Howard has 8 wins and 9 losses and a 3.92 ERA.
