| Breaking News |  | Monday, July 14th, 2014: Madiev Red-Hot, WL Player of the Week
Matvey Madiev burst onto the Western League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie first baseman for Philadelphia garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 23-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .423 (11-26) with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs last week.
This season Madiev is batting .252 with 15 home runs. He has scored 42 runs and driven in 48.

| Tuesday, July 1st, 2014: June's WL Batter of Month Award Announced
Even though he is a newcomer to GUBA Triple A, Matvey Madiev put up some good numbers in June and brought home the WL Batter of the Month trophy.
He was one of Philadelphia's offensive leaders with a .327 average in 26 games. He also racked up 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 25 runs scored.
Madiev is currently batting .236 with 10 home runs and 34 RBIs.

 | Wednesday, June 25th, 2014: Méndez Tosses Shutout Against Chihuahua
Philadelphia pitcher Andrés Méndez put on a show today and walked away with a 5-0 shutout victory over the Chihuahua Dorados, throttling them on 6 hits. He just cruised through their lineup, fanning 4 and walking 2 in a strong outing.
"He was very efficient and he hit his spots," his manager said. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate."
In 8 starts this season Méndez has fashioned a 6-2 record and a 2.69 ERA.
