| Breaking News | | Sunday, August 17th, 2014: Sánchez at His Best, Whips Chupacabras Armando Sánchez of the Mount Prospect Knights not only shut out Tijuana 5-0, he made it look effortless. Sánchez stopped them on 6 hits to help the Knights cruise past the Chupacabras. His performance included 4 strikeouts and no walks.
Sánchez has started 10 times this year, pitched 74.1 innings, fanned 61 batters and walked 8. His current record is 5 wins and 2 losses with a 2.54 ERA. | | Wednesday, August 13th, 2014: 25-Game Hitting Streak for Fulton Quezon City's 22-year-old first baseman Jack Fulton has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 25 games now. Today Fulton extended the streak by going 2-4 against Knights pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Fulton always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Pearls 5-4 triumph over Mount Prospect at Pearls Ballpark he downplayed his part in the victory. J. Fulton grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
In 2014 Fulton is batting .371 with 5 home runs. | | Sunday, August 10th, 2014: An Hot, Knights Cold The Mount Prospect Knights struggled at the plate today against Swing hurler Hsin An, who shackled them on 3 hits while hurling a complete game 6-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Knights skipper in his postgame comments.
"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
An finished the game with 8 strikeouts and no walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Hsin made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
This year An has compiled a 10-9 mark with a 4.11 ERA in 24 starts. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 67-63, .515 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 7.0 GB | | Record at home | 36-29, .554 PCT | | Record on the road | 31-34, .477 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-8, .273 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 17-18, .486 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 28-26, .519 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 36-37, .493 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in May | 18-11, .621 PCT | | Record in June | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in July | 11-17, .393 PCT | | Record in August | 11-8, .579 PCT |
