"Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," St. Paul's Pablo García told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well."
It definitely turn out well for García today as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats against Pacolet. It turned out well for his team, too, as the Swing knocked off the Prancing Pansies 11-1 at Field of the Swing.
P. García doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off M. Mei in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off K. Oka in the 8th.
This year García is batting .243 with 16 home runs and 72 RBIs. |  | Sunday, August 18th, 2013: Chávez Smacks 6 Hits for Prancing Pansies 6 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Pacolet's Jorge Chávez had a very special day against the Swing when everything came together for him and he did just that -- collected 6 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Pacolet Prancing Pansies to a 6-3 win at Prancing Pansies Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Chávez said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
J. Chávez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and hit a three-run home run off L. MacNidder in the 11th.
