| Breaking News | | Monday, June 3rd, 2013: Fuentes Blitzes Pacolet The Pacolet Prancing Pansies were almost helpless today in their 13-0 loss to New Delhi hurler Jorge Fuentes. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 4-hit shutout.
The Pacolet manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Fuentes. He kept us off balance all night."
Fuentes said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."
He had 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in a strong performance.
Season-to-date Fuentes has rung up 3 wins and 2 losses in 12 appearances. He has an ERA of 3.06 and has fanned 46 batters in 79.1 innings. | | Wednesday, April 10th, 2013: Velásquez Gives New Delhi Goose Eggs! Rafael Velásquez allowed 5 hits while giving up 4 walks and collecting 3 strikeouts as Pacolet blanked New Delhi 8-0.
In the postgame interview Velásquez said, "I'm trying to keep the ball down and let guys put it in play. It worked for me today."
| | Tuesday, April 9th, 2013: Li Tags Prancing Pansies 5 Hits If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Yi-ping Li showed how it's done as he went 5 for 6 against the Pacolet Prancing Pansies and helped the New Delhi Llamas beat them 11-5.
The manager for the Prancing Pansies told the SION sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."
If Li keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
Y. Li singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off R. Maldonado in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
This season Li has hit at a .333 clip with 3 RBIs, 1 home runs and 6 runs scored. He has played in 9 games. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | RF Emílio Rodríguez | back spasms | 2-3 weeks | Not on DL | | P Jeff Sims | torn labrum (Shoulder) | 6 months | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 26-38, .406 PCT | | Position in Division | 6th, 15.0 GB | | Record at home | 10-22, .313 PCT | | Record on the road | 16-16, .500 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 0-2, .000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 4-11, .267 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-10, .524 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 15-28, .349 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in May | 11-18, .379 PCT | | Record in June | 2-5, .286 PCT |
