There's something special about a guy who can stride up to the plate and put the ball anywhere -- in the stands, off the wall, into the gap, down the third base line. You name the place and Rob Vance probably put it there on his way to winning the Eastern League Outstanding Hitter Award for 2014.
The New York right fielder belted out 149 hits in compiling a .320 batting average and racked up 29 doubles, no triples, 40 home runs, 119 RBIs and 89 runs scored.

 | Monday, September 15th, 2014: Freedom Win Round 3 Crown
It was a clash of the two best teams in the GUBA Triple A -- the New York Freedom and the Claxton Blue Knights -- and when the dust cleared on the diamond -- the Freedom were the 2014 Round 3 champions.
It all came to an end today at Ballpark of New York, when New York clinched the title with a 3-0 victory and won the series 4-3. It is the 1st time it has happened in club history.
During the Eastern League Central regular season New York put up a 93-37 record and finished first.

 | Tuesday, August 26th, 2014: Morrisey Whitewashes Outlaws
New York was pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard today as Kenneth Morrisey blanked Royal City 3-0. He stopped them on 3 hits with no walks and 5 strikeouts.
His skipper said, "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite. He was on top of his game in this one."
So far in 14 starts this season, Morrisey has recorded 14 wins and sustained 2 losses. He has pitched 128 innings, yielded 106 hits, fanned 74 and has a 2.11 ERA.
