Friday, June 28th, 2013: Román Tags Prancing Pansies 5 Hits
"It was like I was hitting little league pitching," said Jorge Román after his 5-hit performance against the Prancing Pansies. "No offense meant to Pacolet, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Ballpark of Hattiesburg!"

The Hattiesburg second baseman had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and pacing his club to a 14-10 victory.

His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Jorge worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."

"That's what I'm trying to do," Román said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."

J. Román singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.

In 2013 Román is batting .248 with 75 hits, 5 home runs, 33 RBIs, 29 walks, .318 OBP and has scored 45 runs. He has played in 76 games.

Monday, June 10th, 2013: Abeele 5-6 for Crawdads
All game long New Orleans's Menno Abeele was rattling the walls at Crawdads Ballpark and banging out base hits against the Hattiesburg Eagles. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Crawdads had a 19-4 victory.

Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 31-year-old catcher said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."

M. Abeele singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.

In the 2013 campaign Abeele has hit at a .282 clip with 17 RBIs, 5 home runs and 17 runs scored.

Monday, June 10th, 2013: Salazar Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Jorge Salazar of the Crawdads was unstoppable in today's 19-4 victory over the Hattiesburg Eagles at Crawdads Ballpark. He battered them for 6 hits in 7 at-bats.

"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the New Orleans first baseman after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 6-7 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."

J. Salazar singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off N. Wolfe in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.

Hitting .383 to date, Salazar has 1 home run and 10 RBIs. He has played in 47 games.
