The Chupacabras hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
McCarthy told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."
The Freedom manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."
In 26 starts this season McCarthy has compiled a 10-9 record and a 3.46 ERA. |  | Saturday, June 1st, 2013: EL Batter of the Month Honors to Stout Not known for his offensive prowess, Fred Stout set the league afire in May and took home the Eastern League Batter of the Month award.
The Tijuana shortstop posted a steady .376 batting average, 6 home runs, 18 RBIs and 21 runs.
Looking at his stats this year, Stout has compiled a .314 batting average, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 28 runs. He blanked them 5-0 on 3 hits, registering 3 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Rivera said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the Tijuana skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone."
