| Breaking News |  | Sunday, May 6th, 2018: Guillotines Maloney Suffers Injury
It took the Paris team doctor a while to realize it, but reliever Kevin Maloney won't simply play through a strained bicep muscle after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Shamrocks-Guillotines game. At first, it looked like Maloney might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 3 weeks.
Maloney has made 14 relief appearances this year and notched 4 saves. To date in 22.2 innings he has a 2-2 record, 2.78 ERA with 26 strikeouts and 8 walks. |
 | Friday, May 4th, 2018: Torres Pitches Paris to Shutout Win
Fernando Torres of the Paris Guillotines was right on target when he blanked the Dublin Shamrocks 2-0, yielded 2 hits and totaled 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Speaking to BNN reporters after the game, Torres said, "I had everything working today and I got some help from my defense, too. They saved my butt a few times."
Up to now Torres has compiled an ERA of 3.63 with a 2-2 mark over 7 starts. He has 22 strikeouts in 34.2 innings and has held opponents to a .213 batting average. |
 | Tuesday, May 1st, 2018: Chicago Black Sox, Guillotines Agree to Trade
The players apparently knew they were on the trading block, so it did not surprise one of them when he learned that he had been traded to Chicago. "Got my bags packed already," he said, when reached for comment. The Black Sox will receive 30-year old starting pitcher Carlos Burgos, while nothing will go to the Paris Guillotines.
During his career Burgos has 97 victories and 62 defeats with a 3.21 ERA.
