"I'm frustrated right now," said Mexico City left fielder Chiang-hui Su-Tu. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Diablos Rojos, that's where he will be spending the next 4 weeks. Su-Tu suffered a scratched cornea in today's game against Havana while being hit by a pitch. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."
Su-Tu has collected 83 hits for the Diablos Rojos this year, 18 of them home runs. He has also netted 50 RBIs and scored 62 runs while batting .209. |
 | Wednesday, July 31st, 2013: Monarchs-Diablos Rojos Swap: Saunders for Chochalek
Officials for the Baltimore Monarchs confirmed that they have traded 25-year old center fielder Paco Montaño, 23-year old left fielder Mitchell Saunders and 27-year old reliever Jeff Lester to the Mexico City Diablos Rojos. In return, the Monarchs will receive 24-year old third baseman Gerwazy Chochalek, 22-year old minor league right fielder Min-sik Im and 27-year old minor league right fielder Pablo Torres.
This season Saunders has hit at a .230 clip with 19 RBIs, 0 home runs and 26 runs scored.
In 19 games this season Chochalek is batting .195 with 8 hits and no home runs. He has scored 2 runs and driven in 1. |
 | Wednesday, July 31st, 2013: Diablos Rojos Deal Jiménez to Falcons for Cameron
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Mexico City Diablos Rojos sent 24-year old minor league left fielder Manny Jiménez to the Warsaw Falcons for 28-year old reliever Ken Cameron.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
Cameron has compiled an ERA of 4.52 so far this season, winning 3 games with 8 losses and 3 saves. In 47 relief appearances he has hurled 63.2 innings, yielded 63 hits and struck out 53. Opposing hitters have batted .261 against Cameron. |
