| Breaking News |  | Thursday, May 10th, 2018: Rubén Lara Wallops 3 Homers for Perfectos
If you were sitting in the bleachers and brought your glove to the Perfectos-Diamonds game, there was a good chance you'd catch one of the three home runs hit by Rubén Lara. The Perfectos first baseman repeatedly sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir and led Havana to a 11-3 win over Johannesburg.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub... not thinkin' about home runs. I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames. When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em," he philosophized in the postgame press conference.
Lara was 4-4 on the day with 8 runs batted in.
R. Lara hit a solo-shot off R. Román in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off R. Román in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off C. Leclerc in the 8th.
A look at his season totals shows Lara with 13 home runs, .297 BA, .326 OBP, 36 RBIs and 20 runs scored. |
 | Saturday, May 5th, 2018: Year Ends for Alejandro Ortega in Havana
Alejandro Ortega of the Perfectos just might have to call it quits for the season. The 34-year-old Havana right fielder received a possible season-ending injury against the Mexico City Diablos Rojos recently at Perfectos Ballpark. Ortega suffered a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament while throwing the ball. The Perfectos medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 8 months.
Ortega's current batting average stands at .277 and he has chalked up 10 home runs and 22 RBIs. |
 | Tuesday, May 1st, 2018: Havana, Munchen Close Deal
Today at a press conference the Havana Perfectos announced a trade has been completed with the Munchen Brauers. The Perfectos have shipped 27-year old minor league second baseman Graham Gribble and 25-year old minor league first baseman David Goena to the Brauers for 21-year old minor league closer Douglas Gorwyn.
