Yin-fat Wang sizzled last month as he put together a successful bid for the Monty Brewster Baseball Association Rookie of the Month.
In April the Long Beach Surfers first baseman banged out 29 hits and 6 home runs for a solid .362 average. He also scored 12 runs and drove in 15.

 | Friday, April 20th, 2018: Long Beach Loses Martínez, Will Miss Season
Long Beach third baseman Ramón Martínez could miss the remainder of the season because of a ruptured achilles tendon. He exited yesterday's Louisville game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Martínez would be out 7 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
Martínez on the season is batting .328 with 5 home runs. His totals include 11 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has played in 17 games.

 | Monday, April 9th, 2018: Long Beach's Solís to Miss Season
Long Beach has lost first baseman António Solís for at least 7 months. He was hurt in a game against the Stars while running the bases and sustained a fractured knee. His doctors said Solís will probably be out the rest of the year.
In 2018 Solís is hitting .219 with 7 hits, 2 home runs, 9 RBIs, .242 OBP and has scored 4 runs.
