| Breaking News |  | Sunday, December 15th, 2013: Deal: for Kikuchi
The California Crusaders have finalized a deal that will send $1 in cash to Auckland for 25-year old minor league first baseman Tomomi Kikuchi and $1 in cash. Minor details still need to be worked out before the trade becomes official, but the players involved are expected to be with their new clubs soon.

California has worked out terms of a deal to send 28-year old center fielder Tagashashi Takahashi and 19-year old minor league right fielder José Canseco to Sao Paulo for 29-year old center fielder Ánibal Santos and 24-year old first baseman Pedro Romero. Both teams expect to introduce the players to their new teammates within a day or two.
Takahashi is hitting .292 lifetime with 1042 hits, 203 doubles, 48 triples, 13 home runs and 309 RBIs to date. He has scored 512 runs, walked 189 times and has a .344 OBP.
Santos has a .258 career batting average and has hit a total of 133 home runs.

Jorge Enríquez of the California Crusaders is probably going to miss a day or two as a result of a finger blister that doesn't seem to be getting better quickly.
"I feel okay. Not one hundred percent, but I can go if the team needs me," the California star performer said.
The team physician has said Enríquez's time off will be about 1-2 weeks or until he can play without pain, but a trip to the disabled list is not likely.
This season Enríquez has crafted a 20-14 mark with a 3.16 ERA in 290.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .250 against him and he has 236 strikeouts.
