| Breaking News | | Saturday, July 27th, 2013: Hernández Tags Wolves 5 Hits What a day for Ramón Hernández of the Chicago Black Sox! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Green Bay pitching apart at Black Sox Ballpark and sparked the Black Sox to a 15-9 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Hernández told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
R. Hernández hit a solo-shot off A. Shimizu in the 1st, hit a three-run triple in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off N. Lucas in the 7th.
This season Hernández has banged out 104 hits in 411 at-bats for a .253 average with 19 home runs. He is getting on base at a .292 pace and his totals also include 67 RBIs and 48 runs scored. | | Wednesday, July 24th, 2013: Árias Retires 27 Gators in a Row! Many times a perfect game happens only in dreams or in backyard baseball games where you're the only player. When it magically happens in real life, like it did on this July day at Wolves Ballpark, it's a very special occasion.
Green Bay pitcher Jorge Árias retired all 27 batters today, defeating Jackson 6-0 in a once-in-a-lifetime perfect game. He surrendered no hits, walked none, struck out 10 and permitted no one to get on base.
Sitting in the clubhouse after the game, speaking to reporters Árias said, "Many times as a kid, I imagined pitching a perfect game, but it was only a fairy tale. I didn't really ever expect to pitch one. It's a special experience and I don't want to demean it, but I've had better stuff than I had today and lost games. It all just fell into place in this game. They hit 'em where we were and we caught 'em."
In 2013 Árias has compiled a 13-4 mark with a 2.63 ERA in 23 starts. In pitching 161 innings he has 130 strikeouts and 13 walks while limiting the opposition to a .240 batting average. | | Monday, July 22nd, 2013: MBBA Player of the Week Chosen All week long Scott van Houwelingen was the toughest out in the Monty Brewster Baseball Association and that is the prime reason he was voted the Player of the Week.

van Houwelingen is hitting at a .310 mark this season. His stats show 10 home runs, 68 RBIs and 62 runs scored.
