Saturday, August 3rd, 2013: Sandoval Hot, Stars Cold
In a sharp 4-hit performance, Juan Sandoval tossed the Chicago Black Sox to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Valencia Stars, fanning 5 and walking 2.

"That's as good a stuff as I've seen in a long time," the Valencia manager said in his postgame interview.

To date this season, Sandoval has a record of 9 wins and 3 losses and a 2.94 ERA. He has appeared in 21 games and struck out 130 in 141 innings.

Saturday, July 27th, 2013: Hernández Tags Wolves 5 Hits
What a day for Ramón Hernández of the Chicago Black Sox! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Green Bay pitching apart at Black Sox Ballpark and sparked the Black Sox to a 15-9 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-5.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Hernández told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."

R. Hernández hit a solo-shot off A. Shimizu in the 1st, hit a three-run triple in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off N. Lucas in the 7th.

This season Hernández has banged out 104 hits in 411 at-bats for a .253 average with 19 home runs. He is getting on base at a .292 pace and his totals also include 67 RBIs and 48 runs scored.

Monday, July 1st, 2013: Abrams Top Hitter in MBBA in June
Dale Abrams of the Chicago Black Sox certainly made a resounding impression on the Monty Brewster Baseball Association pitching corps in June and today reaped the reward as the league's best batter for the period.

The right fielder put up some good offensive figures as he hit .363 with 11 home runs, 22 RBIs and 19 runs scored.

This season Abrams is batting .305 with 55 RBIs, 47 runs scored and 21 home runs.
