The Birmingham Bandits have parted ways with nothing, sending him to the Manhattan Myst for $6,000,000 in cash. The Bandits general manager confirmed the deal in an announcement this morning.

It appears to be only a rumor, but earlier today, fans around Birmingham were buzzing with the news that their 29-year old shortstop Felipe García had been asking for a trade. "I couldn't imagine him saying bad things about Birmingham or wanting to leave." said one person.

 | Sunday, September 23rd, 2012: Hits Galore! Chávez Drills 5 Hits!
All game long Birmingham's Carlos Chávez was rattling the walls at Ballpark of Birmingham and banging out base hits against the Green Bay Wolves and when the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a career day, a 5-hit day, but no victory. The Wolves defeated the Bandits 13-9 to take a little of the glitter of the occasion away.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 22-year-old second baseman lamented, "To get 5 hits and win a ballgame, that would have been a very special day. But we didn't win today. It's not easy to be happy when you lose. Only losers do that."
In all, Chávez collected 5 hits in 7 at-bats and a spot in the record book.
C. Chávez struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off R. Escada in the 8th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 11th and singled in the 13th.
This year Chávez is batting .244 with 145 hits, 9 home runs, 54 RBIs, 31 walks, .280 OBP and has scored 48 runs.
