The Birmingham Bandits have parted ways with nothing, sending him to the Manhattan Myst for $6,000,000 in cash. The Bandits general manager confirmed the deal in an announcement this morning.

 | Tuesday, September 25th, 2012: Rivera Tosses Shutout Against Myst
Gilberto Rivera of the Buffalo Bisons just toyed with the Manhattan Myst today, blanking them 4-0. He was almost untouchable, baffling them on a 3-hit shutout with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Rivera said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there."
One of his teammates said it was easy to play behind him today. "It was like he's just playing with the hitters and doing whatever he wanted to do."
This season Rivera has compiled a 9-8 mark, 3.82 ERA and made 23 starts.
