 | Sunday, August 5th, 2012: Bentley on Fire, 5-6 Against Oxnard It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Benny Bentley -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Belleville and paced the Hilgards to a 14-10 win over the Oxnard Beet Farmers. After his dynamite batting performance the Belleville left fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. B. Bentley singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. This year Bentley has hit at a .429 clip with 33 hits, 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 17 runs scored. |
